As the head coach of the ASU Water Ski Team, I' d like to invite you to seriously consider attending Arizona State University and to join us for a phenomenal academic and athletic venture upon graduation from high school. At ASU, you will not only be offered unparalleled academia as a member of the ASU Water Ski Team you will be entitled to some superb benefits:
- Scholarship funding. If you have maintained a high GPA, have scored well on your College entrance exams and have had success with your waterskiing career, you may qualify for the coveted Sun Devil Scholarship. This honor, if delegated, will help offset your tuition and other education expenses.
- Two premier team-training sites - Firebird Lake and Crystal Point Estates. We have a team membership at Firebird, which allows team members to ski virtually any time they want in order to improve their skills.
- Extraordinary local support. Our media exposure has been excellent through the years. We have been on TV, mentioned in the newspaper countless times and have been introduced, midfield, and midcourt at several ASU football and basketball games, as well at half time at the Phoenix Suns and Phoenix Coyotes.
- Team Boats - Our 2009 Nautiques. The boats are moored at Firebird Lakes so team members can use them when needed.
- Team funds to assist in travel to tournaments, Regionals, All-Stars and Nationals. Through collective efforts, we raise money to help support the team' s operating expenses.
- A competitive team. Since our inception in the fall of 1994, we have dominated the Western Region, handily winning consecutive Conference Championships from 1995 to 2009. Last year we placed third at Collegiate Nationals.
We realize to maintain our current level of excellence we must replace graduating seniors with quality skiers. You could play a huge part in helping us keep the continuity.
All things considered, if you want to ski year round, be a member of the National Championship Caliber Team and further your education in an institution second to none, I know you' ll come to Arizona State University.
E-mail me at Rbstevensondev@aol.com, so we can discuss a date to visit the campus. Hope to hear from you soon.
